About Rockfield Studios
Rockfield studios is one of the few recording studios that really needs an introduction. Founded by brothers Kingsley and Charles Ward in the 60's; it was the first residential recording studio of its kind and marketed towards major labels based in London as an opportunity to send musicians to record with limited distractions. Their first hit record was Dave Edmunds "I Hear You Knocking" before welcoming the likes of Queen, Ozzy Osbourne, Hawkwind and others over the next coming decades.
By the 90's, Monmouth received the unofficial nickname Monchester due to influence Rockfield and Monnow Valley had with the Britpop movement and acting as the home for the likes of Stone Roses and Oasis.
